In 1990 Linda moved from clinical pharmacy in hospital to primary care, to work as a pharmacist facilitator with the National Preferred Medicines Centre (PreMeC). Since 1995, she has worked with EastHealth, an IPA / PHO in East Auckland with approximately 60 general practitioners. This work has changed from that of a pharmacist facilitator focusing on improving prescribing choices, to one that still works to improve prescribing, but also works with patients undertaking Comprehensive Pharmaceutical Care® (CPC®) medication reviews, as a Clinical Advisory Pharmacist.
As well as being a director of Comprehensive Pharmaceutical Solutions Ltd, Linda teaches postgraduate pharmacy students in applied clinical pharmacy, and medicines information / medicines management at the University of Otago and the University of Auckland. Recently she has completed by PhD in the Department of General Practice and Primary Health Care at Auckland University in collaboration between general practitioners and pharmacists to improve patient medicine-related health outcomes, using Comprehensive Pharmaceutical Care®.
