Catching the heart of Maori in the tail of the fish

biography

A Maori GP working at Te Hauora o Te Hiku o Te Ika in Kaitaia Lance has a strong interest in Maori health and chronic disease prevention and management. Having moved to the Far North 2 years ago Lance realises how important effective engagement of your community offers significant reward in the care of people faced with chronic disease. The prevalence of high risk CVD in our community in the Far North is concerning and this presentation will look at One Heart Many Lives-Muriwhenua 2007 and reflect gains and challenges experienced as we move into 2008.
