Workforce development

As a population group, Māori have on average the poorest health status of any ethnic group in New Zealand. Māori have higher rates of obesity, higher mortality rates from cardiovascular disease and higher prevalence of diabetes than non-Māori. One approach to help decrease such inequalities is to strengthen the knowledge and skills of the Māori nutrition and physical activity workforce. This presentation will discuss the Te Hotu Manawa Māori Train-the-Trainer course.
